What
is a healthy option ?
A snack or beverage which contributes to a
balanced diet, being low in fat, added sugars, and of high nutritional
value. A snack,
beverage or meal option which fits this definition is considered a healthy
option.
The following criteria are considered when assessing a snack,
meal or beverage as a healthy option;
• Total fat content and type
• Added sugar content
• Portion size (energy value)
• Sodium content
• Nutrient content
• Fibre content
• Additives and preservatives
Based on
these objectives and broadly considering the Ministry of Health guide lines,
a typical healthy snack or beverage
option in our vending machines has the following characteristics:

Per 100 g / 100 ml
• Less than 1000 kj
• Less than 2000 kj
• Less than 7g fat
• Less than 10g fat
• Less than 20g added sugars
• Less than 20g added sugars
• Less than 300 mg sodium
• Less than 650 mg sodium
